Kia Ora! I’m Kate Watson (She/They/He), a current university student fresh out of high school and aspiring Medical Laboratory Scientist. I’m a NZ European and Indian person part of the LGBTQ+ community – who strives increase positive healthcare outcomes, accessibility, and treatment rates for my South Auckland and LGBTQ+ people; who don’t always have the best healthcare experiences.

This scholarship will financially support me while studying at AUT – helping to relieve financial stress while attending university – as I pursue my love of science and laboratory work, contribute toward the high demand for healthcare workers, and ensure I take positive action to improve my communities.
