Matthew Darby — Bachelor of Commerce — Victoria University of Wellington

Matt is a proud gay man who is passionate about the rights of all LGBTQ+ people. Matt attended christian schools throughout his life and dealt with hardship along the way for being who he is. Therefore, he understands the struggles first hand LGBTQ+ people can face and realizes just how important it is for everyone to be treated equally in all environments.

Matt is passionate about cross country and hiking. He represented his high school back in 2022 and competed in the NZSSAA Cross Country down in Nelson. Matt is also extremely passionate about business and accounting; he will be attending Victoria University of Wellington to complete a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in human resource management and employment relations.

After tertiary study, Matt hopes to be a Human Resources Manager that advocates for no discrimination of LGBTQ+ people in the workplace.
