Angelina

Angelina is a recent graduate of Mt Albert Grammar School and will be studying Chemical Engineering at University. She has had a lifelong passion for sports of all descriptions, and at any one time has always had several different activities on the go, including netball, water polo, athletics, Pilates and running – she recently completed her first half-marathon and would love to do a full marathon one day.

In 2024 she was fortunate to be selected for the Royal NZ Air Force School to Skies Wāhine immersion programme and spent a week living in barracks at the Whenuapai airbase where she was introduced to a range of STEM-based career options, including hands-on aircraft maintenance and repair (avionics, mechanics, welding), firefighting, flight and SAR mission planning, and gained flight simulator experience. The group also spent significant time on personal development, team building, leadership and resilience training.

This experience cemented her determination to succeed in an Engineering career and has given her increased confidence as a gay woman wanting to work in this area.
