25th Anniversary Gala Dinner
November 15, 2024Abby
February 12, 2025DC has a deep passion for changing the trajectory of people’s lives for the better—a drive that began in early childhood. At the age of two, he swallowed an object that led to 16 surgeries before the age of four. This experience ignited a fight for change, with his parents successfully lobbying the government, resulting in the Commerce Commission mandating clearer safety categorisation for toys, including the now-standard “Not suitable for children under three” label.
Now, DC is channeling this same passion into his Master’s in Organisational Psychology, where he will explore Institutional Betrayal within employment for Māori and LGBTQIA+ communities. His research will examine the impact of workplace betrayal on mental health, aiming to shed light on systemic issues and advocate for safer, more inclusive workplaces.
