Celebrating their tenth anniversary last year, Rainbow Tick | Toitū Takatāpui made some exciting announcements. Along with celebrating their remarkable milestones thus far, they are forging ahead with several new initiatives, one of which is rebranding as Toitū Takatāpui, “This name honours the enduring presence of tāngata Takatāpui and underscores our role as a Kaupapa Māori provider of diversity and inclusion services”.
Along with this fabulous move, Louisa Wall has been announced as their new Patron. Louisa beings a wealth of mana and knowledge. At the tenth anniversary celebration she urged us to “resist” and “uplift” and gave the timely reminder; "We have come so far, but there is still much work to be done".
Possibly the most exciting announcement for us though, is the new partnership between Rainbow Tick | Toitū Takatāpui and the Rainbow New Zealand Charitable Trust. Rainbow Tick | Toitū Takatāpui has generously made the commitment to support the work of the Trust by donating a portions profits to the Trust. Needless to say we are thrilled with this support!
“This partnership couldn’t be more timely for the Trust. With the current financial pressures for our regular donors the Trust as been facing pressures for our grants and scholarships. Toitū Takatāpui’s ongoing financial support is literally a lifeline for many of the grass roots organisations we work with” says co-chair Jessie Lewthwaite.
“We look forward to this ongoing partnership and we know it will allow us to support or Rainbow and Takatāpui communities around Aotearoa, which is very much the kaupapa of Toitū Takatāpui and the Rainbow New Zealand Charitable Trust” says co-chair Gurv Singh.
