For over four decades, Buckwheat has used humour and powerful storytelling to champion gender identities across Pasifika and mainstream communities, standing tall (literally at 6'6"!) on local and international stages.
Beyond the stage, Buckwheat curated Air New Zealand’s Pink Flight for Sydney Mardi Gras, boosting LGBTQ+ visibility and has featured across media for years – advancing cultural pride and positive role modelling. Her influence reaches far beyond the arts: she’s a vital voice for diversity, inclusion and cultural pride in Aotearoa and globally.
