Talofa Lava! My name is Ashley Leuluaialii. I am of full Samoan descent & whakapapa to my villages of Lotopa in Upolu & Salailua in Savaii, Samoa. As a Pasifika Rainbow recipient of this scholarship, I am truly honoured & blessed to be amongst many other rainbow youth scholars who are also recipient’s of this prestigious scholarship. I plan on utilising this scholarship towards my finances for studies at AUT – Auckland University of Technology, studying a Bachelors of Arts majoring in Psychology. I aspire to become a Pasifika warrior in the mental health sector, breaking barriers for Pasifika Rainbow youth alike. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Rainbow Charitable Trust for awarding me with such an honour & also to my community in 275 South Auckland for paving the way for me. To my fellow recipients I would like to leave you with a quote that has constantly kept me going which is “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game”. Let it be a reminder to never give up despite the doubts in your mind & worrying about the end result. Keep your eyes on your path towards success & you will be fulfilled with your achievements.
