George Copeland – Spirit of Adventure Youth Development. Cut Above Makeup School

George is an extremely talented & creative young gay man with a passion for the arts, photography & makeup. George experiments with a variety of media including makeup & drag, creates his own costumes, makeup looks and hair, as well as building sets & back drops.

George has been accepted into Cut Above Makeup School so he can then pursue his career in film, stage & special effects. George has been awarded a coveted place on the Spirit of Adventure Trust Youth Development programme!
George is a high profile personality with proven leadership during his time at Selwyn College, incl Peer Sexuality Support programme leader. He was also a Mentor for rainbow students & encouraged LGBTQI+ sport, where he excelled in futsal at a national level.
George was selected for the YMCA RaiseUp youth development & empowerment leadership camp. He received the Selwyn College Silver Award for Service to the School Community, & also received the 2021 Pat Hanley Creativity Award for outstanding commitment. He was an Arts Council leader & also ran art therapy sessions to promote students’ wellbeing.
