Emma is a Canadian living in New Zealand, and she identifies as a lesbian. Passionate about advocacy Emma has been working towards building wide range of experiences and skills that will allow her to be an effective leader in fighting for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
An active member of multiple communities, Emma is very generous with their volunteering time. A house leader in her high school, a part of the Duke of Edinburgh programme, volunteer at the Summerset Rest Home, the Chosen Valley Christian Camp and lead cast member of the School Productions for the last two years; Emma has had a very busy high school career.
A committed dancer, Emma is also a member of Anjanette’s Academy of Modern dance for 10 years as a Hip-Hop and Jazz dancer. She competed in competition troops and performed in numerous shows, as well as volunteering as a Dance teacher at said dance school. Also passionate about debate and politics, Emma was also delegate at Auckland Model United Nations for three years.
A founding member and secretary of Rainbow Westies a LGBTQ+ youth group based out in West Auckland; Emma also hopes to join Rainbow Law organisation at UOA. Emma believes that law can have global benefits to the Rainbow Community and has the potential to help us move towards equal rights.
