Caeden Tipler – ISS Facility Services Scholarship. Bachelor of Law and Global Studies Conjoint – University of Auckland

Caeden identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. A passionate advocate, Caeden is generous with their volunteering time. As a proud member of the Rainbow Community, Caeden is also very passionate about global politics and human rights.

Very active at high school, Caeden was the leader of their schools LGBTQIA+ club and by 2022 was a part of the 2022 Youth MP for Golriz Ghahraman. Caeden also participated on the panel with other LGBTQ+ Green Youth MPs on Rainbow Issues. Also, they did a two-day Youth Parliament event where they were able to engage in a Rainbow Caucus Group. This led to them joining the Rainbow Greens Executive.

Caeden is also the Co-Director of Make it 16, the campaign to lower the voting age. Throughout their time as Co-Director, Make it 16 has made significant progress, including going to the Supreme Court, handing in a petition and an open letter to Parliament. This work is what inspired Caeden to continue this activism throughout their degree, as well as continuing to be an active member of the Rainbow Greens Executive.
