Scholarships 2019

On 31st January at the Rainbow Auckland Mixer the Rainbow NZ Charitable Trust 2019 presented the LGBTI+ TERTIARY SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS !

This year we were able to extend the scholarship programme from 4 to 7 (!) scholarships thanks to the generosity of long-term sponsor AUT – Auckland University of Technology and our new friends at Aurecon who so generously (and on very short notice!) stepped up with an extra scholarship for an extra-ordinary young engineering student. One of the scholarships was very special to us as we were able to honour past Trustee Richy James with a memorial Scholarship. It was also the first chance for the 2019 scholars in the image to meet each other.
It’s a very exciting time for everyone to see the good all the hard work involved in fundraising and events management delivers back to our community, and the difference the scholarships make to these extra-ordinary young people – the future leaders of the rainbow community. Watch this space as we profile each scholar individually so you can get to know them all, and watch as we track their successful study and careers.
