This is the first fundraising event the Trust has held for two years and is a key part of the change early this year when the GABA Charitable Trust became the Rainbow New Zealand Charitable Trust. Building on 18 years of fundraising tradition, the reformatted evening will offer the kind of fun entertainment people will remember, but with the focus of the evening being about the guest speaker, Helen Clark, the live auction will be much shorter and the silent auction is going online with a smart new app.
The Trust is pleased to announce that Michele A’Court has agreed to be our MC for the night. Michele is a well renowned stand-up comedian and author. A regular guest on the Seven Days TV show and current affairs shows, she is particularly skilled in the role of MC in bringing appropriate humour to exclusive events.
Michelle Maitland is returning once again as our auctioneer extraordinaire. Michelle brings many years of experience as a successful auctioneer for the Trust and in the Rainbow charity sector. She is extremely skilled at enticing bidders to increase their bids! Get ready…
Auctions have traditionally been a major part of our ability to raise the funds needed to support the community with a range of items that reflect the spirit of the event and offer guests opportunities for a range of purchase spend from $200 – $10,000. Items will be auctioned via a short Live Auction featuring high end and unique items, with smaller items being auctioned through an online Silent Auction app whereby bids can be placed directly by guests at their tables or from participants in other locations throughout the evening.
We actively seek items to be donated large or small. Items can be things like services, travel, accommodation, artworks, books, wine, hospitality, experiences of any kind, the more unique and personal the better. Let your imagination run wild!
Auction items are now being sought so if you have something you’d like to donate, please email: [email protected].
Early Bird tickets are on sale now till midnight July 8. Look out for updates on our Facebook page.
Seating will be allocated in priority order from date of purchase starting with the best available Tables in the category of your tickets. Doors open at 5PM for pre-dinner mix and mingle drinks, time to view the Auction items, with Great Room seating at 6:30PM.
